HITRUST documents a security framework that was initially tailored toward protecting electronically protected health information (ePHI). The HITRUST framework has undergone numerous updates and has taken the best parts of many other cybersecurity frameworks, such as PCI, NIST, and ISO, and integrated them together to create Common Security Framework (CSF), that is diverse and flexible to meet the needs of organizations in any industry.
